End of Week Fun!
Another busy week around the Mile High Academy campus, the good kind of busy. A week of students learning, teachers motivating their students and faculty, staff and parents filling the halls with smiles and friendly greetings.
We love to pop into classrooms and find out what teachers are up to…This week:
Mrs. Meg Current, 2nd grade teacher, had a special visitor. To continue their lesson on earth habitats, one of the
student’s grandparents, visiting from Arizona, did a presentation on cactus. With a slideshow of the different cactus species, answering questions and sharing cactus candy with the students, she brought interactive learning into the classroom.
The Upper School spent time this week focusing on what really matters during the Christmas season. A special worship devoted to talking about what God did for us through the birth of Jesus and how it affects our daily lives put the focus back on Christ.
And because we have reason to be joyful during this time of year, the Upper School also spent time getting into the holiday spirit. An animated Christmas themed trivia game, hot cocoa, Christmas sweater day and cookies provided a chance to celebrate together. The US Life Skills class provided the baked goods.
Mr. Leandro Bizama has been busy preparing students for Feast of Lights. What a joy to hear children’s voices floating through the halls. We’ve even been joined by Springs Adventist Academy to make it an extra special event. It’s great to see partnerships in action. It has definitely put smiles and Christmas spirit on this staff person’s heart.
Thank you teachers, students, parents and staff for all you do to make Mile High Academy a great place to learn and grow.
