For over 110 years, Mile High Academy has been a trusted name in Christian education. Our Lower School provides a safe and nurturing learning environment for students in Kindergarten through fifth grade, offering age-appropriate opportunities to explore, learn, and serve.

CURRICULUM HIGHLIGHTS

• Worship: A time dedicated to growing our relationship with God, exploring His creations, and learning about forgiveness, grace, and love.
• Bible: Through our Stepping Stones (K) and Encounter (1^st-5^th) Bible programs, students explore the Bible through stories, activities, and projects, covering themes of personal, spiritual, and family-oriented growth.
• Language Arts: Standards-Based Learning guides targeted instruction in all areas of Language Arts, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening. We use Unlocking the Reading Code—a program aligned with the most current research in the Science of Reading—for phonics, grammar, sentence structure, and spelling, while comprehension is built through a standards-based focus on key reading skills.
• Math: With Standards-Based Learning guiding our instruction, Big Ideas Math helps students build and demonstrate mastery of grade-level concepts and skills.
• Science/Social Studies: In addition to dedicated time for science and social students each week, teachers integrate science and social studies units throughout the content areas, providing hands-on experiments and assignments.
• Extra Curricular Classes: All students participate in physical education, art, and music classes.
