Middle School at Mile High Academy is a bustling, dynamic environment where students in grades 6–8 actively learn and grow. Through collaborative learning, effective communication, and attentive listening, students are challenged to think deeply, engage respectfully, and take ownership of their learning. Guided by Standards-Based Learning (SBL), instruction is focused on clear learning targets, meaningful feedback, and growth toward mastery of essential skills.

• Science: Students learn through OpenSciEd, a phenomena-based approach that builds curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving. A new STEM lab supports hands-on experiments and deeper investigation.
• Math: DeltaMath provides comprehensive, interactive practice that supports skill mastery and targeted growth.
• Language Arts: Students continue studying word origin and structure with Unlocking the Reading Code, strengthening vocabulary, grammar, and writing foundations.
• Bible: Faith development continues through the Encounter Curriculum, helping students connect Scripture to daily life.
• Social Studies: World and U.S. history are explored through a standards-based lens, emphasizing reasoning, perspective, and strong historical understanding.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH

• Arts, Athletics, and Electives: Students explore their interests through electives such as robotics, Spanish, art, band, or life skills. All middle school students participate in PE and choir, supporting wellness, teamwork, and creativity.
  Leadership Development: Throughout Middle School, students build confidence and essential leadership skills that prepare them for Upper School, service, and life beyond the classroom.
